1666-The Spanish Main

The Spanish trading ship drifted through the vastness of the sea. It seemed a normal enough trading galleon. The hold was full of food, goods and gold. The crews quaters were messy and smelly. There was just one problem, the crew. There weren't any. The ship was fine, but there where no crew. The ship's name was Catalan, it had been carrying a shipment of building materials and luxuries from Spain to Santa Domingo in the Carribean. But only a few days before it was due in port, something happened. Something terrible...

1666-Port Royale

It was a mistly day in Port Royale. A yoing cabin boy was up, late at night, cleaning the decks of the new English ship-of-the-line, Viper. The boy's name was AJ. As he made his way below deck, a huge shape appeared in the mist. It seemed about the same shape as the Viper, but much wider and less streamlined. Before AJ could call out, the shape rammed into the Viper. There was a horrible sound of creaking and scraping, the sound of wood against wood. Now it had left the mist it was clear to see that the shape was a large Spanish trade galleon. As AJ began to leave the viper, a latern fell off the front of the trade galleon, straight onto a barrel full of gunpowder. After what seemed like hours to AJ but was only a few seconds, both ships where torn apart by a huge explosion. Most of each ship fell into the water and the keels of each ship gave way. What was left of each ship sank to the bottom of the dock. But the disaster wasn't over. A burning mast toppled on to the pier, setting it ablaze. In the middle of all the carnage, AJ was no where to be seen.

Confusion.

Several miles away from Port Royale, a figure stood in small war canoe. He raised his spyglass and focused it on the burning docks and eyed the destruction, the remains of the trade galleon and the Viper. A few other ships had caught fire in the havoc and were burning down. Some people were rushing down to the docks to try and tackle the blaze. Smiling to himself, he lowered the spyglass, turned round and looked at his prisoner. The only two people who had seen what had really happened were the figure and his prisoner. His prisoner was AJ.
