Chapter One
The Bond, the Bargain, and the Breakfast

It was a cold, rainy day in the village Oltin. Few elves were about, selling beads, buying berries, and sometimes splashing in puddles the rain had provided. Most elves at this time would be at their warm Redwood and Oak tree houses, in small stores, or in the mines outside of the village. Although the weather had made a depressing mood, the guards of the village still patrolled the area. Their armor was very light consisting of mainly leather, making them the swiftest of the land. Their head-ware was made out of steel and outlined with raccoon fur making it comfortable for the pointy ears of the possessor. The weapons they carried consisted of a Redwood Bow, 25 silver tipped arrows, and a small but very sharp dagger. The sole job was to protect the elf homes in the trees.
One particular house was at the tippy top of a great Redwood tree located near the west of the village. In it lived the town watchman, Luthen, his wife, Kli. With them they had their two sons, Deiru (16), Aleron (14), and their daughter Ereanna (13). It was two stories high, but wasn’t really big, because elves run only about four feet tall. In the house there were 3 bedrooms, a guestroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. The whole house was furnished with wooden items, wood beds, tables, counters, chairs, plates and cups, utensils, and cabinets.
The day was quite early so the children were just waking up, Kli was making breakfast, and Luthen was finishing up his job as night guard. Food was never a problem in Oltin, the grass had much nutrients for the animals and for farms.

It sounds like a bedtime story. I like it.
