Homeless Blackburn teenagers show where they sleep
Young people left homeless are sharing their experiences using photographs which reflect their lives.

The exhibition, shot mostly by former homeless youngsters, has opened in Blackburn Cathedral and was commissioned by Nightsafe a cathedral-based charity which works with 16-to-24-year-olds.A park bench was taken to various locations in Blackburn - which are central to the lives of the young people - before being used in several studio shots.



Photographer Chris Lamble, who works for a charity called Alternative Futures Group, mentored the young people, saying they decided to use the park bench as a prop because sleeping on a bench was one of the stereotypes associated with homelessness.



The locations included a shopping precinct where homeless people gather but also other venues such as Blackburn Rovers FC, where one of the young people said they had slept when homeless.



Other locations were chosen because they were had a particular meaning to the young people.

The outdoor images depict an anonymous young person to reflect the way in which homeless youngsters are invisible to wider society, said Nightsafe.



Danny, who featured in the outdoor shots, is a young person who was helped to turn his life around by the charity.

Images shot inside Mr Lamble's studio, he said, aimed to reflect the hopes and aspirations of the young people, who have either slept rough on the streets, in hostels or have been left "sofa surfing".



In two weeks' time the exhibition will be on display in Liverpool Cathedral.

Anonymous Hackers Target Israeli Government Sites Including Mossad



The "hacktivist" group Anonymous took responsibility Monday for bringing down several Israeli government websites, including that of the intelligence agency Mossad. "[The] government of Israel [has] experienced a small fraction of our anger," said the Twitter account @AnonymousGlobo, which claimed to represent the network. It posted links to the websites for various Israeli official websites - including Mossad, the Israel Defense Forces, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Justice Department, and National Security Council among others – at least some of which appeared to be down at 8:30 a.m. ET Monday.

The attacks began last week, according to the Twitter feed, but posts about the action began to escalate late Sunday and continued with a slew on Monday - including the final message: "We're back..." The group also posted a tribute to Tayyeb Shehadah, a 22-year-old protester who according to Palestine's MAAN news agency was killed during demonstrations on the West Bank on Friday. Photographs circulated on Twitter showed Shehadah wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, the symbol of Anonymous.
