heres how u know when the bad guys are about to fire;
small guys: the light in the cannons grows brighter
big guys: the cannon stops moving
ground guys: the cannon lets out a short harmless beam
big guy at end: he releases 3 small guys and stops moving his cannon

This is a pretty good game.
